Powerup!

Some of you might have noticed that we have just launched a new game: Powerup

Create a circuit between the two robot heads using the metal blocks. When you create a circuit the electricity can flow from one to the other. Use your balancing skills and try not to let the blocks topple over!

We sometimes receive artwork and letters from you guys in the post. This picture shows a figurine that was sent in to us by Barrett - as you can see it's one of the pirates from Mutiny made out of clay! We were very impressed when that turned up!

We decided to get a noticeboard in the office so that we could display all of your letters and drawings: you can check out a picture of it here.

Thanks very much to everyone who has sent things in - it certainly brightens up the office!

More Fan Art

Here's a quick roundup of some of the fan artwork that has been sent in to us recently...

The image to the right is a picture of Toxic by Eli created only using text! Just stand back and look at it if you can't see it straight away!

There are some images of Twinshot, Flipside and Jack Frost by Larissa.

And some images of Icebreaker and Hot Air by Fan.

Finally there are some spot the difference games created by Maciek out of some of our game artwork:
Dirk Valentine (14 differences)
Off The Rails (12 differences)
Rustyard (10 differences)

See if you can spot them!

Thanks for sending those in! Right that's it.... we have to get on with making some new games!

Take control of Takeshi the ninja on his first mission in Final Ninja Zero. We find our hero learning the skills he used in the original Final Ninja game as well as a few he might have forgotten! (well he was getting on a bit...)

More intelligent enemies.... more stealth.... more security... more swinging... so basically more. In short if you love Final Ninja then we hope you will love this too!

We're very pleased to announce that we won a "mochi" last week from the Flash Gaming Summit which took place in San Francisco. We won the award for Best Family Game for Skywire 2! Check out this link to see a showreel of the nominated games, and to see the winners in all of the categories.

We'd like to say thanks very much to the Flash Gaming Summit for hosting this event dedicated to Flash games.

As promised we have a new expansion to our Icebreaker game.....in the new Icebreaker: The Red Clan.

Get the new tribe of flame-haired vikings back to their longboat using your ice slicing powers...use new features such as grabbing rock and floating ice to help solve puzzles. There's another 40 levels at your disposal so you'd better start slicing your way through them!

Website Issues

A few of you might have noticed that there were issues accessing the website last weekend. We are still unsure as to what caused these problems but they seem to be fully resolved now. We're really sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused. Thanks to everyone who emailed in to let us know about the problem! If any of you are still experiencing problems then please try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page. If the problems still persist then please contact us letting us know which pages are affected.

Following up from our last Works blog post we have now swapped over all of the games to the new website hosting. As we mentioned before this may effect the levels unlocked in these games but you should be able to retrieve them by following the steps listed here.

On a positive note we now have all of the highscores in the games working again!

We should also be ready to launch a new game very soon.

Nitrome Fans

We thought we would show you some more of the creations that people have been sending in to us.

First of all we have to give a huge shout out to Adam of Cheesy Productions who has been making a lot of videos about us on YouTube. He has posted video reviews of 39 of our games so far and even shown how to play some our games using a joystick and a steering wheel plugged into his computer! We didn't even know that was possible!

There are a couple of new nitrome-themed comics:

Nitromee comic by Kim B
Various Nitrome comics by MJ Hunt

...and some more artwork:

Final Ninja by micro-bullet
Nitrome in vector by Giorgos93
Nitrome pixel art by Simon

Finally the image you can see here is a model of the guy from Toxic made out of clay! It was sent in to us by Conal.

Thanks to everyone for all of their hard work!

Breaking The Ice

A lot of you have been emailing us with guesses about our mystery game last week: some right, some wrong! We can now reveal that the mystery game is going to be an extension of our Ice Breaker game.

Ice Breaker has proved to be very popular and we got bombarded by requests for more levels - so not wanting to disappoint we got started on a level pack. We couldn't resist adding some more new features though so there's going to be a few surprises along the way. You can see one of them in the image here but I'll leave it to your imagination on what it's showing and how it works!

You won't have long to wait now - we're just going through some final testing! Prepare to slice and dice some ice!

Maintenance Works

Ooh look we have a new banner... yay!

Unfortunately it's not for anything that exciting... It's more practical. There are some more interesting categories coming!

This new category in the blog is going to let you know about any maintenance work to the site or games. So for example if we make an update to fix a bug in a game we will let you know here.

Recently a few of you might have noticed that the site has been acting a bit wonky. Our old hosting wasn't really up to the task of serving the games to all of you so we have been swapping over to a new server solution with the friendly folk at Peer 1.

Swapping hosting is never without its problems though and this one has had its fair share of teething problems. It's mostly sorted out …

Mystery Game

What's this I see coming in the near future? It's all hazy and a little bit pixelly...

...It seems to be a follow up to one of those crazy Nitrome games but I wonder which one...

...Oh well I guess we will just have to wait and see what the tide brings in. All will be revealed in time...
