Super Leap Day launched!

Hi Nitromians,

We are thrilled to announce that we have a brand new game that has just launched...Super Leap Day!

It is available NOW on Apple Arcade for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac!

Super Leap Day is the sequel to Leap Day and much like in that game the key hook is that there is a new level every day for you to play and it can all be played with a single tap.

You may have noticed by this point that we have not made the game in pixels this time out! We are known for making games with pixels so that may seem a little unusual. We still love pixels but we also have been looking for the right time to break the trend and try something new. It seemed a risk to apply this to a sequel but it also gave us opportunity to give the game it's own identify and help highlight that this is not more of the same. We are thrilled with how it came out and we hope you approve.

Gameplay has also been completely overhauled from the ground up to allow for many features we were not possible to include in the first game. Yolk and friends can now handle slopes and even run up walls...or ceilings if you get enough speed. You can grab things now too which really expands how you interact with the world around you. You don't even travel only upwards any more...see a sideways opening and it will take you in a whole new direction!

We also took the opportunity to shake up the rewards from the first game. No longer will you be unlocking new characters with the same abilities as Yolk. Now all the characters you unlock have their own abilities and they can be upgraded to do more things too! In addition we have added bonus games into the unlock pool...fancy a round of golf? How about pinball or jump in a kart and test your driving skills!

We have added a lot of new things for Super Leap Day but like the first game this is just the start and we plan to add much more content to keep you all coming back for more! We hope you all enjoy it!

This post is primarily to announce our new game but given the lack of updates on the site we want to assure those curious that we are still in full development mode on Shovel Knight Dig. It has been in continuous development along side Super Leap Day and we expand the team to handle both projects so that one did not impact on the other.

Our Next Published game (following Ultimate Briefcase) is the very awesome ReDungeon by developer Eneminds. Its a bit like Platform Panic if you change genre to a more Zelda dungeon type game. The game has tons of content and unlockable characters so it should keep you entertained for a while. It should be hitting the mobile stores next week!

Rustbucket Update this week!

Hey Nitromians,

Our Turnbased hero Rustbucket has a new update out THIS WEEK on mobile. They'll be a set of brand new sewer levels bringing the total to 40 levels so far. There is a bunch of exciting new monsters and tricky puzzles in threre too.

We are (as ever) mega busy on a bunch of brand new games that we plan to keep you updated on when we get enough time to properly show them off.

Rustbucket has new weapons!

Hey Nitromians,

Rustbucket has had a second huge new update and this time we've mainly been focusing on WEAPONS! There are 10 brand new weapon themed stages set inside a huge fire temple for you to fight through with lots of cool new mechanics and puzzles.

Also for those of you still enjoying the endless mode weve added a shop to the mix... FINALLY a real way to spend all of that gold.

Each weapon has been balanced to have its own plus and minus points. A Bow might be handy at long range attacks but is far less effective upclose than say a mighty battle axe. There is even a new way to smash those annoying statues thanks to the huge warhammer weapon, so there is no excuse not to "smash" your highscores.

p.s We know we have neglected the site a lot of late. You'll find that we are very active on Twitter (@nitrome) due to it being just so easy to pick up and quickly post at any time of day. There has been a lot of news that you might have missed, but we aim to post the most important pieces here for you all to enjoy.

Ultimate Briefcase coming THIS WEEK!

Hey Nitromians,

Our first published game Ultimate briefcase is coming to your devices THIS WEEK for iOS and Android.
This game was created by the ever talented Quite fresh games, created by Stefan Ahlin.

This is no ordinary high score bullet dodger though, expect:

-Unlock new characters EACH with their own unique special moves and multiple exciting and jaw dropping upgrades!

-What is inside the ultimate briefcase and where did it come from?
By collecting discarded security cam footage you’ll be able to piece together where how this all began to unravel in a series of animated clips. Clever stuff.

-Unlock new power-ups in the shop to both attack and defend yourself against the onslaught of projectiles and improve your high score.

-New arenas can be opened up and are also not just cosmetic. They too have their own traps and quirks for you to discover.

In short, Ultimate briefcase is, well... the ULTIMATE bullet dodger on mobile. And it’s rather pretty to boot.

We couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

...And to think it wasn't so long ago that we had our first game published.

Rust Bucket Update 1 out now!

Hi All!

for those of you into our Rust Bucket game....Good News! The first big update for the game is out now!

It contains new levels set in a new theme with new monsters and traps to tackle.

Endless mode has also had some love. New monsters, a new theme after graveyard and you can now spend coins to continue a little further.

We hope you all enjoy it! Currently were working on update 2!

Hey Nitromians,

For anyone who missed yesterdays big release of Beneath the Lighthouse it's OUT NOW and available on GooglePlay and the Appstore for free.

We are very pleased by peoples positive response's so far and are really looking forward to any 'reviews' or 'fan-art' (*nudge nudge wink*) that appear over the coming weeks.

- Any kind reviews especially on iOS would be much appreciated-
We plan to include one review quote from a fan in the apps description alongside any nice site review scores, so who knows you could have your name up in lights for all to see.

We are listening to complaints about the game crashing on some peoples devices. We are going to do more tests on an ipod5G and try our best to see if we can resolve this issue. We will let you know in a mini update if we get it working smoothly.

Thanks for all of your support (for those of you lucky enough to be playing the app already). If your waiting in the wings for the web build, why not watch our extended release trailer to wet your appetite.

Beneath the Lighthouse - OUT NOW!

Our puzzle action roller Beneath the Lighthouse is now available to download on your devices.

Android users - We have updated the App through the Google Playstore so please make sure you have the latest version (1.0.3)

We have had a handful of complaints about crashes (so far usually on lower end devices). The game should technically work on most androids who run 4.0.3 and up. If you can please give us details on where the app has crashed, as-well as your device model and version number. We will try our best to get it working on as many devices as we can, but unfortunately there are no guarantees.

iOS users - require iOS6 or later and iPhone5, iPad3, iPadmini2, iPod5G or later! It may work on lower end devices but we can't guarentee how it'll run.

We have an update on the way for iOS that reduces the file size considerably and also squashes a few nasty bugs.

We really appreciate all of your support, kind words, reviews and ratings and hope you are enjoying the game as much as we enjoyed making it. =D

Rustbucket does MetalGear!

Hey Nitromians,

We have been hard at work on our upcoming turn based Roguelike RustBucket. We are really excited about this one and have been adding a whole bunch of new themes, baddies and traps (which we'll be showing some off later).

We are keeping lots of the game features under wraps, but for now we wanted to show off this neat little new feature.

In the game you can rescue villagers that litter the dungeon environments. However being the hero of the game, you can help out your fellow human by using your handy Fulton technique to whisk them out of harm’s way. (MetalGear style)

As a reward for saving them from slaughter you are rewarded with a shiny gold coin.

Further down the line you will experience other types of villagers. Some of the younger more agile ones which make their own attempt to escape in the usual turn-based fashion.

Insane and Zen Update!

Hey Nitromians,

WAHOO! We have just released a brand new update to our super popular Magic Touch!

This update brings you two brand new modes INSANE and ZEN! Both bringing separate spellbinding challenges.

Insane mode is exactly what it says on the tin. SUPER HARD and LOTS of fun. With some brand new shapes to master, the speed cranked up to 11 and purple knights and the king are more EVIL than ever. Perfect for short bursts of play and people who like a challenge and to brag about there impressively low high scores.

Zen mode is built for those who just want to play the game without any of the added distractions. Gone are the purple knights and collectable spells slots that take way to much brainpower. Start off at a reasonable pace without any of the boring build-up, throwing you into the action straight away and keeping the pace until your arm softly drifts off to sleep! AHEM... and then falls off.

If you’re up for the challenge try and beat 34 on Insane mode, my PB so far!

Hey Nitromians,

We are working hard on several new releases here at Nitrome towers (well four to be exact), with a mixture of both endless high score chasers and more traditional level based games.

Today we thought we'd show off some gameplay footage of our super fun and addictive game Vault! It's fairly far on in production now so we expect that it'll be the next game released for mobile!

We are not quite ready to reveal our other two 'Level' based games quite yet. But if your lucky we'll show off a screenshot next week.

Hi Nitromians,

we have been a little quiet of late in revealing what we have been up to here at Nitrome Towers. Rest assured that we have four games in development as we speak (one of which we showed previously).

So time to reveal another game! 'Vault!' (yes with an exclamation mark) is a game about erm vaulting. Its simple to control but has a surprising amount of depth and it is super fun to send the character into the air over the vaulting stick.

We will have more on the other games that we have in development soon but in the meantime we will let you all guess on what this game is all about!
